How Professional Coaching at Inner Genius Can Benefit You

What is Professional Coaching?

The International Coaching Federation defines coaching “as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity, and leadership.”

I would also add that professional coaching adheres to a strict code of Ethics that is clearly defined so that client and coach are clean and clear on their roles and responsibilities and from this safe space can creatively explore deep and inspirational topics. I personally subscribe to the code of ethics from the International Coaching Federation as a member of the ICF.

We see professional coaching in its purest form as a safe place of no advice giving. This is sometimes contrary to how people envision a coaching experience. As a professional coach, we understand that the power of transformation and integration emerges from a process of exploration through deep and meaningful questions that tap into values, strengths, and resourceful identities. This powerful process creates profound and lasting change.

Our coaching philosophy at Inner Genius:

A coaching session between a coach and his client

One client…One Powerful Coaching Conversation at a Time

“Extraordinary people are ordinary people making extraordinary decisions.” – Sharon Pearson

Our coaching practice is firmly grounded on the following powerful principles:

  • We are all doing the best we can with what we know.

  • We have everything inside of us required to be successful

  • Everything we do has a positive intention

  • Everything outside of us is just information and is out of our control.

  • We are 100% accountable to the results we create.

  • Change is the only constant in life.

Although as a business success coach there will need to be many conversations around day-to-day business life, I am a true believer that we need to coach the whole person (Holistic) to gain profound and sustainable change. To be honest, if it was as easy as setting goals and crushing them, we would all be living the life of our dreams, with vibrant health, deep relationships, and incredible business success.

Our holistic approach looks at all aspects of life and business with the mind, body and spirit always being considered. When we consciously align with our values in all aspects of life, we release our creative energy, and we get to see what is truly important. From this space of holistic alignment, we automatically become more focused, but at the same time more joyful. While in the process of unleashing our (sometimes hidden) skills and abilities results in setting and crushing goals that matter to us at our core and having fun along the way.

SIX KEY reasons to consider hiring a coach for your business and life.

“I never cease to be amazed at the power of the coaching process to draw out the skills or talent that was previously hidden within an individual, and which invariably finds a way to solve a problem previously thought unsolvable.” – John Russell

1. Transform BIG Ideas into reality

So many of us have a swirl of great ideas daily. New products ideas, best practice procedures, to name a couple. But often our big ideas get lost in the hustle and bustle of super busy business days and incredibly busy lives. Having a coach can give you that important BLUE SKY brainstorming time to really explore BIG new ideas and concepts to fully investigate if they have merit and alignment and if should be pursued.

2. Embrace a success mindset

Having the right mindset can truly determine the difference between success and failure. One of the famous quotes from Henry Ford “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” Says it very succinctly. Human beings tend to dwell on the negative so having a professional coach work with you on positive and resourceful mindsets that serve your stated goals and objections will supercharge and propel you toward success.

3. Unleash Potential

We all have it in us to be incredibly successful, often what holds us back is a lack of confidence that manifests as self-doubt and a lively and loud inner critic. This quote from Brian Tracy really gives clarity to what gets in the way of our true potential “Fear and self-doubt have always been the great enemies of human potential”. Having a coach to help you explore your positive future visions, intrinsic core values, and inner strengths will help silence the inner critic and put you in the driver’s seat of your life.

4. Increase work/life balance

This term is overused but cannot be understated. Stress and sometimes burnout (stress that has not been managed) is a daily reality in the dynamic and sometimes volatile business world. Many reports agree that 70-80% (and rising) of businesspeople have stated they experience stress daily (20% are near burnout level). High stress is compounded by high company and client expectations, travel, crazy workloads, and competing life and business priorities. Having time with a coach can go a long way to help establish key priorities by exploring goals and strategies that align with what you say is of key importance in both life and business.

5. Collaborate on creativity

Deepak Chopra said it well “The most creative act you will ever undertake is the act of creating yourself.” So often we are busy people pleasing and trying to stay safe we forget that we get to consciously set our priorities and be the designer our own lives. Having a coach to co-create allows for a rare and safe space to really dig deep and dream about what is possible. You can get laser-focused on future visions that align with your values and priorities and from this place of focus apply all the internal and external resources needed to transform YOUR dreams into reality.

6. Overall Coaching ROI – the bottom line

A Metrix Global study found that executive coaching has a 788% return on investment.

According to the ICF (International Coach Federation) statistics

  • 70% Increase in Individual Performance

  • Goal attainment

  • Clearer communication

  • Higher Satisfaction

  • 50% Increase in Team Performance

  • Better conversations

  • Improved collaboration

  • Enhanced work performance

  • 48% Increase in Organizational Performance

  • Increase in revenue

  • Increase in employee retention

  • Customers as advocates

Bottom line- Coaching has the potential to enhance the performance of your business and life…period.

Empowering Radical Change

Two men walking out of the door

“Coaching isn’t therapy. It’s product development, with you as the product.”

To empower is defined as is to “make someone stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights” (Oxford Dictionary) This definition aligns perfectly with the goals of professional coaching. The coach through a process of powerful questions and at the same time holding space for deep exploration of what’s possible dramatically increases client confidence. As confidence builds over time, what was once thought as impossible becomes possible and dreams are transformed into a daily reality.
